Sara Owston

Sara Owston a devoted mother and wife and a truly dedicated midwife was sadly taken too soon on 8.3.25. Her daughters Scarlett and Poppy and her husband Andy were Sara’s world, all that had the honour of working with Sara regularly heard her speak about them with so much love.

Second to her family Sara was proud to be a midwife, training in Pilgrim Hospital, then once qualified as a core midwife on labour ward, for a period of time as a Labour ward coordinator and for a short time as a Specialist clinical continuity of carer of midwife in Skegness community. Sara was a joy to work alongside side with her positive personality, her amazing knowledge and skills and her infectious smile that lit up a room. She was so kind, caring and empathetic and was always there for support whether this be as a colleague, friend or whilst caring for the families she met. Sara continued to give to strangers even upon her passing in offering the gift of life to many who were on the transplant list, a true legacy to the amazing caring lady that she was. Sara`s funeral will be taking place at Boston Crematorium on Tuesday 1st April at 11.30. Her family would like any donations in Sara’s memory to go to premature babies being cared for at Pilgrim hospital Neonatal unit. All that know Sara will be aware that her daughter Poppy received care there when she was born so this was very close to Sara`s heart. All monies donated will go directly to Pilgrim NNU.
