What is Same Day Emergency Care?

Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) is an emergency medical service that provides an alternative to Accident & Emergency care or hospital admission. This allows patients to be assessed, diagnosed and treated within the hospital environment without being admitted to hospital for an overnight stay. Our aim is to provide a safe and efficient alternative to an inpatient stay.

Who are we?

We are the shared decision making council (SDMC) made up by 4 lovely humans from all areas of our team, including a clinical healthcare support worker, deputy sister, emergency medicine ACP and a surgical ACP.

We are fundraising to raise money to improve our patients experience on the ward, currently we are working towards a freezer for our patients and providing a snack trolley. The freezer will allow us to provide our patients with ice lollies and ice cream and ice cubes for a cold treat as SDEC is very warm.
