Joshua, aged 4, will be walking one mile a day throughout March. His big sister, Sophia, was sadly stillborn in 2017 and I (his mummy) work within the trust as a Maternity Bereavement Support Worker. He regularly asks how 'mummy's baby's' are at work and recognises the sadness that families go through when their baby dies.

He attends every baby loss awareness week event at the cathedral and adds his sisters name to the tree of remembrance each time. He says 'all of the babies that have died live in the cathedral - they all play together and are so happy to be friends'.

I believe him and I take great comfort in this thought.

Joshua really wants to raise some funds for the hospital charity in memory of his sister, so we can continue to fund the baby loss events, improvements to the bereavement service and enable us to continue to pay for Petals, which is a charity that offers baby loss counselling. We are also creating the bereavement suite at Lincoln and Joshua understands that we definitely wont raise enough to pay for the entire suite (!!), however he would like to raise money to provide some nice, homely items or the room to provide bereaved families with some comfort whilst they are inpatients (and mummy's looking after them!)

Joshua would like to ask if people could donate to such a special charity, so we can provide excellent bereavement care to the families of Lincolnshire! He cant wait to get out walking, and is hoping he will bump into lots of doggies to pat! Bethan Blackwood
